Intervale and Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan have launched MyPaykz, a new mobile payments service, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to Ms. Ainur Zhumanova in charge of the project, “MyPaykz is available to everyone. The application can be downloaded free of charge and is used to pay mobile phone bills and utility bills. In future users will be able to purchase air tickets, pay their traffic fines and E-gov services”. Ms. Zhumanova said the transaction fee would stand at KZT 40 regardless of the payment amount. “Mobile banking services [rendered by a certain bank] are only accessible to clients of this particular bank. The most obvious advantage of MyPaykz is that its users can be holders of bank cards issued by any bank. The only condition is for the bank card to be usable for on-line payments. As of today the application is available for Java, Symbian, and Windows Mobile. In a month we will be launching applications for iPhone and Android. MyPaykz’s interface is in three languages – Kazakh, English and Russian”, she said.
