It is suggested that Kazakhstan customs personnel and border guards learn English and good manners, Tengrinews.kz reports from the government meeting on October 3. “Hospitality in airports is very important for communication with investors. The first time a foreign citizen enters the country as a tourist, the second time to reconnoitre the ground and the third time he comes as an investor. Failed to observe the official etiquette, incorrect approach and no knowledge of English is a signal that creates barriers for working with investors,” deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev said. He suggested to introduce annual instructions for customs personnel and border guards. Personnel with the knowledge of English have to work in airports, Issekeshev said. Vice-PM suggested to develop a special training program. Besides, Asset Issekeshev suggested to instruct Astana, Almaty and oblasts administrations to translate all the names and signs into English.
