Two wind farms to emerge in Zhambyl oblast

Central Asian Green Power, a joint venture of Kazakhstan’s private equity company Visor Group and the Turkish subsidiary of Italy’s Relight Group, plans to build two wind farms with a combined capacity of 600MW in the south of the country, Tengrinews.kz reports. Today, March 25, Central Asia Green Power signed a memorandum on cooperation in development of renewable sources of energy with the regional governor of Zhambyl oblast and KEGOC, national electricity grid operator. According to the signed document, the investor is to develop a feasibility study and secure finances to construct and launch Zhanatas (400MW) and Shokpar (200 MW) wind farms out of its own and borrowed funds. Estimated construction period will make up 2 years.
