Martial arts forum to start in Astana on March 27

Best fighters of Eurasia are going to assemble in Astana’s Eurasia sports complex for a 3-day Martial Arts Forum starting March 27, a Tengrinews.kz correspondent reports. The forum’s main goal is to establish Kazakhstan as a center of martial arts. Offices of the ancient samurai school of Katabami Ryu Ju-Jitsu and All Japan Ju-Jitsu International Federation (AJJIF) that unites 161 marital arts organization in more than 60 countries of the world will open up Astana. President of AJJIF O-sensei Alexey Kunin said: "Grand masters of the leading martial arts schools from the US, UK, South Africa, Australia, Russia, Georgia and Armenia will assemble in the capital of Kazakhstan. They will speak about the distinctions of styles and schools and share the secrets of the use of various techniques during special master-classes.” Plans have been unveiled to create a national training center for martial arts in Kazakhstan. “Kazakhstan is not only becoming an economic leader, but also a sports leader. It makes perfect sense to open up a national training center here,” Alexey Kuniun said and even offered Kazakhstan to host the Ju-Jitsu world championship in two years. Admission to the forum is free and anyone who has a kimono would be able to get a master class from a world famous master, organizers say. By Maksim Popov
