24 Kazakhstan judoka will take part in World Championship in Paris

24 Kazakhstan sportsmen will take part in World Judo Championship to be held on August 23-28 in Paris, official website of Kazakhstan Judo Federation writes. The main task for the Kazakhstan judoka is to score as much points as possible to receive licenses for the Olympics in London. The Judo Federation counts on the World champion of 2009 Maksim Rakov, winner of 2010 World Championship Eldos Smetov, as well as Timur Bolat and Islam Bozbayev. Kazakhstan men’s team includes Yerkebulan Kossayev, Eldos Smetov (60 kg), Nauryzbek Mailashev, Azamat Mukanov (66 kg), Eldar Zaripkhanov, Rinat Ibragimov (73 kg), Islam Bozbayev, Sayat Shamshiyev (81 kg), Timur Bolat, Aleksandr Kassachev (90 kg), Maksim Rakov (100 kg), Yerzhan Shynkeyev (100+ kg). The women’s team includes Aleksandra Podryadova (48 kg), Kelbet Nurgazina (52 kg), Lenariya Mingaziva, Alina Ten (57 kg), Zarina Aldykova, Aigerim Kydyrbayeva (63 kg), Zhanar Zhanzunova, Maryan Urdabayev (70 kg), Galiya Ulmentayeva, Zamzagul Faizollanova (78 kg), Gulzhan Issanova, Zarina Abdrassikova (78+ kg). The World Championship will gather 949 participants (568 men and 381 women) from 136 countries. 16 sets of awards will be awarded in Paris: eight for each program (men and women). The absolute category tournament was eliminated this year. But for the first time in the history of the world championship the participants will be able to take part in the “wall to wall” tournament for men and women. They will be held in the last day of the tournament.
