Kazakhstan National Bank announced issue of Al-Farabi golden coin from the “Portraits on Banknotes” series and Aldar Kosse silver coin from the “Kazakhstan Fairy Tales” series, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the bank's press-service. The coins with the value of 500 tenge were issued on August 20. Al-Farabi coin has a fragment of the front side of earlier issued 1 tenge banknote with Kazakh sophist Al-Farabi. It is made of triple nine gold, weighs 7.78 grams and has a diameter of 21.87 mm. The total number of the coins issued is 4 thousand. As for Aldar Kosse coin, it is made of sterling silver, weighs 31.1 grams and has a diameter of 38.61 mm. The total number of the coins issued is 4 thousand. The coin has a portrait of the fairy tale character who travels on a donkey and is accompanied by a dog.
