Voting at the Senate elections have completed in most of Kazakhstan regions, Tengrinews.kz reports from the briefing of Kazakhstan Central Election Commission. “As of 12:30 p.m. (Astana time) the total voter turnout made 96.6 percent, voting finished in almost all the regions and calculation of votes is currently in process,” CEC member Tatyana Okhlopkova said. According to Okhlopkova, 371 observers were registered for the elections. This number includes 33 candidates’ agents, 52 representatives of other countries and international organizations, 29 representatives of political parties, 37 representatives of public unions and 220 representatives of the media. The final results will be announced by the CEC today, August 19, at 5:00 p.m. Astana time.
