Kazakhs are better beer drinkers than Kyrgyzs

Kyrgyzstan residents drank 49.8 million liters of beer in 2010, which is 47 percent of the total volume of alcohol consumption, Tazabek reports citing the State Agency on Control of Production and Trafficking of Ethanol, Alcohol and Alcohol-containing Goods of Kyrgyzstan Government. CA-NEWS calculated that every Kyrgyz citizen consumed an average of 9.5 liters of beer in 2010. According to Kazakhstan Statistics Agency's data for 2010, Kazakhstan citizen consumed an average of 36 liters of beer in 2010, which is almost four times higher than in Kyrgyzstan. The share of beer in the total volume of alcohol consumption is about 60 percent in Kazakhstan. Czech Republic is the leader for beer consumption with 144 liters a year per capita. An average Russian citizen drank 73 liters in 2010. An average citizen of Germany drank 107 liters of beer in 2010.
