January – July 2011 gas production figures announced

Natural gas production output in January – July 2011 grew 8.5% as compared to the like period of 2010, State Agency for Statistics reports. According to the stats, natural gas production for the first seven months totaled 23.1 billion cubic meters. Gas production in 2010 totaled 37.4 billion cubic meters, 3.9% up against 2009. According to the Oil and Gas Ministry’s Strategic Development Plan, gas production is to reach 42 billion cubic meters to be further boosted to 59.3 billion by 2015.
