Kazakhstan Foreign Affairs Ministry said that Kazakhstan's consulate representatives will go to Brazzaville on March 25 to arrange for the body repatriation. The ministry's press service said the identity body of the pilot, Aitzhan Aitkaliyev, is still unidentified by his relatives. “He turned out to be our citizen; we are currently working on body identification and organizing its repatriation to Kazakhstan. Body transportation costs will be covered by Transaircongo. He worked for this company under a contract in Congo,” said Ilias Omarov, MFA press-secretary. According to the press service, cargo plane crash could have been caused by an engine failure. AN-12, a cargo plane, crashed on March 21 in the south of Congo. All crew members were killed - two Russian citizens and one Kazakhstani, as well as more than 20 passengers.
