The USA authorities included Kazakhstan into a special list of immigration service. The list includes countries whose citizens have to undergo thorough checks on involvement in terrorist organizations, a so called Third Agency Check, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the website of the US Department of Homeland Security. The list includes specially designated countries (SDCs) that have shown a tendency to promote, produce, or protect terrorist organizations or their members”, the Department explains. Kazakhstan is together with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on the list. The majority of countries in the list are Islamic, however, the authorities did not include Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. There is no information on the criteria the Department uses to include countries into the list.
