Kazakhstan seeking to abolish visas for OECD member states

Kazakhstan intends to abolish visas for citizens of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) member states, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Erzhan Kazykhanov announced. “Following respective instructions of President Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan is working to simplify visa procedures for 34 OECD member states (…) The Foreign Ministry plans to initiate simplification of visa procedures when travelling from the EU to Kazakhstan or the other way”, the Ministry reported. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international economic organization of 34 countries founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade. It defines itself as a forum of countries committed to democracy and the market economy, providing a platform to compare policy experiences, seeking answers to common problems, identifying good practices, and co-ordinating domestic and international policies of its members. The OECD's headquarters are at the Château de la Muette in Paris, France.
