An elevator fell down in one of the skyscrapers of Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports. No casualties were registered. The accident happened around 8 p.m. According to witnesses, the residents of Severnoye siyaniye (Northern lights) residential compound, the elevator fell down from the 23rd floor but stopped before reaching the first floor. “Amortization system has worked,” the resident Vladimir Koshmin said. According to him, there were around 8 people in the elevator and no one of them was injured, but everyone was very scared. According to some sources, one woman had to be hospitalized because of high stress. According to the residents, elevators in this compound are a big problem and such falls happen regularly.
