Kazakhstan alpinists to take part in CIS Championship in Tajikistan

The first CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Alpinism Championship started in Tajikistan. Kazakhstan sportsmen are taking part in the tournament, Tengrinews.kz reports. The Championship will last for 12 days. Kazakhstan will be represented by Kirill Belotserkovskiy and Pavel Gryaznov. They will compete with experienced alpinists from Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. The sportsmen will have to pass several routes of the maximum difficult mount Zamin-Karor in Yagnob gorge. The winner will be defined by calculation of points for difficulty and speed of ascending. According to organizers, the first CIS Alpinism Championship has several objectives and one of them includes restoring popularity of this sport in the former soviet area, Sport-Express writes. CIS Alpinism Federation is planning to hold such tournaments annually.
