H1 2011 gas production up

Gas production output in Kazakhstan grew in the H1 2011 by 9.2% as compared to the like period of 2010, the State Agency for Statistics reported July 14. According to the Agency, gas production output for the period under review made up 6.3 billion cubic meters. According to the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Oil and Gas, gas production in 2010 totaled 37.4 billion cubic meters, 3.9% up against 2009. According to the Oil and Gas Ministry’s Strategic Development Plan, gas production is to reach 42 billion cubic meters to be further boosted to 59.3 billion by 2015.
