OSCE observers for Kazakhstan presidential election have embarked on work, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports. State Secretary – Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev met Ambassador Daan Everts who is leading the ODIHR Election Observation Mission (EOM). EOM Head announced that 14 OSCE experts on elections had already started their job in Astana to scrutinize the run-off campaign. Another 30 experts are to be sent to country regions. On the day of the election, the ballot procedures will be observed by a total of 400 short-term observers. “I have been inspired with the Minister’s words… he believes it will be the best elections in the history of Kazakhstan. Our task is to assess compliance of the election with the international standards”, Mr. Everts said.
