President Nazarbayev arrives in Moscow

Nursutlan Nazarbayev has come to Moscow on a visit, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports, citing the Press Service of the Presidential Administration. He and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev are expected to discuss relations of the two nations within bilateral and multilateral frameworks. Two weeks prior to the visit, President Nursultan Nazarbayev had a telephone talk with President Medvedev. The two heads of state discussed bilateral ties and preparation for the solemn celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the CIS. It is the first visit of the Kazakh President to Russia this year. Last December Nursualtan Nazarbayev visited Moscow to attend a sitting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community, the highest body of the customs union between Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, a session of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, and a sitting of CIS Heads of state. At the same time President Nazarbayev and President Medvedev had bilateral talks. The two Heads of state signed a statement on the Joint actions plan for 2011-2012. May 9, 2010 President Nazarbayev attended the Victory Day Parade of 2010 to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the capitulation of Nazi Germany in 1945. In February 2010 President Nazarbayev was in Moscow on a working visit. Head of State met President Dmitry Medvedev to discuss issues related to bilateral ties, including economic cooperation. Last year Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also paid three visits to Kazakhstan. July 5, 2010 he arrived in Astana to attend a EurAsEC sitting and festivities to celebrate Astana Day. In September he visited Usk Kamenogorsk to attend the 7th Interregional Cooperation Forum. In December Dmitry Medvedev attended the OSCE Forum in Astana. Altogether, President Medvedev has been to Kazakhstan 10 times. Kazakhstan was the first country he visited in his capacity of the President (May 22, 2008).
