“This summer is expected to be chilly and dry in the most of Kazakhstan’s territory,” Bayan Sazanova, director of Hydrometeocenter state weather service, is quoted by Tengrinews.kz as saying in spring-summer weather forecast press-conference. The good news is that no huge temperature swings or floods should be expected. Speaking about weather forecasts for agricultural producers, Saken Baisholanov, director the service’s agricultural meteorology department, said that moderate improvement of humidity is expected in Eastern flatlands and Akmola and Karaganda Oblasts in May. The remaining territory, however, will be medium dry or very dry. The general situation is expected to somewhat improve in June. But this change is not going to be a radical one, the weather service said. As per the forecasts, good humidity is expected in piedmont and mountainous areas in the East and South-East as well as on the border of Akmola and North-Kazakhstan Oblasts. Rains in northern, western and north-eastern areas of Kazakhstan are going to be poor or medium. And the remaining territory is going to be even drier. By Maksim Popov
