President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with the King of Jordan Abdullah II bin al-Hussein in Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of Akorda.
King Abdullah II arrived to the capital of Kazakhstan to participate in the 5th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
During the meeting, Nazarbayev and Abdullah II discussed bilateral and regional cooperation as well as talked about pressing issue on the international agenda. They also discussed the work of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions taking place in Astana.
&ldquoYour visit to our country and participation at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is highly important. We have trust-based relationship. Kazakhstan highly respects your country. I once again want to stress your importance in ensuring stability in the region (&hellip). We are ready to support you in this work,&rdquo Nazarbayev said.
In turn, Abdullah II thanked Nazarbayev for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of strengthening of two-way communication between the countries.
&ldquoI am always pleased to meet with you and receive your guidance in making the world a better and more peaceful place. For many years I have been fascinated with your peacekeeping work in the region and your work towards bringing together people and religions,&rdquo the King of Jordan said.
President of Kazakhstan during his speech at the 5th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions said that a number of appeals had to be added to the final declarations, one of them being the call to cessation of all military conflicts worldwide.
