President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has congratulated the winner of the presidential elections in Poland Andrzej Duda, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of Akorda.
“President Nazarbayev expressed confidence that the relations between Kazakhstan and Poland would continue strengthening that emphasised that they were based on friendship and mutual understanding,” the press office reported.
Nazarbayev also wished Duba excellent health and successful work. He expressed hope in peaceful and prosperous future of Poland.
Earlier, Andrzej Duda defeated the incumbent Bronislaw Komorowski in the elections by gathering 51.5% of votes at the presidential elections. Komorowski, who was considered a more popular candidate than Duba, earned 48.5% of votes. The total election turnout amounted to 55.5%.
“Thank you President Bronislaw Komorowski for the rivalry of this presidential campaign and for your congratulations. Those who voted for me voted for change. Together we can change Poland,” the newly elected President said.
