“According to the reports of polling stations 89.69 of all the voters from the voters’ lists had claimed their ballots by 6 p.m.,” Marat Sarsembayev, a member of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan told the journalists.
The 6 p.m. voter turnout region-wise was as follows:
Akmola Oblast – 94.81%
Aktobe Oblast – 85.05%
Almaty Oblast - 91.17 %
Atyrau Oblast – 92.96%
Eastern-Kazakhstan Oblast – 93.55%
Zhambyl Oblast – 92.97%
Western-Kazakhstan Oblast – 90.16%
Karaganda Oblast – 91.12%
Kyzylorda Oblast – 93.68%
Kostanai Oblast – 91.27%
Mangistau Oblast – 88.45%
Pavlodar Oblast – 90.23%
Northern-Kazakhstan Oblast – 93.86%
Southern-Kazakhstan Oblast – 93.55%
Astana – 88.29%
Almaty – 73.17%
Over 10 thousand Kazakhstanis voted abroad as of 5 p.m., according to Kairat Sarzhanov, Director of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s Administration and Control Department.
“65 polling stations set up in Kazakhstan’s representative offices abroad have 20,822 on their voters’ lists. As of 5 p.m. 10,861 Kazakhstanis – over 52% - had voted,” Sarzhanov said.
