President of Kazakhstan has met with the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolay Patrushev, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of Akorda.

President of Kazakhstan has met with the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolay Patrushev, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of Akorda.

The Kazakh President and the Russian Secretary discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in security between the two countries as well as pressing issues of the international agenda, including the crisis in Ukraine and its possible future resolution.

They also touched upon questions of economic cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union that both countries are members of and new challenges posed by the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.

Patrushev arrived to Astana for the planned consultations between the Security Councils of Kazakhstan and Russia.
