Experts believe that Alexey Poltoranin, a star ski racer from Kazakhstan, is likely to win two gold medals at the Winter Sochi Olympics, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz. Sport-Express published a medal count ranking forecast for the Sochi Olympics 2014. The forecast predicts two victories to Alexey Poltoranin in two separate ski racing mass starts. He is expected to win the 15-kilometer classic race and the 50 kilometer race. Kazakhstan is expected to win two gold medals and one bronze medal and take the 17th place in the overall by the medal count. Kazakhstan athletes have obtained 58 licenses for the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Kazakhstan's official delegation exceeds 100 members. Kazakhstan will be represented by 10 skiers at the games. Alexey Poltoranin is the best among them. Kazakhstan speed skaters Denis Kuzin, Dmitry Babenko, Roman Krech, Alexandr Zhigin, Fedor Mezentsev and Yekaterina Aidova also have good chances to win medals at the Olympics.
