Moscow and Astana to complete ratification of the agreements to create the Common Economic Space between Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus by July 1, 2011, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports quoting First Vice-Premier of Russia Igor Shuvalov as saying. “We have discussed the need to ratify the agreements on the Common Economic Space in Kazakhstan and Russia,” Shuvalov said after the meeting of the Customs Union Commission on March 14. First Vice-Premier of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeev added that the yesterday’s meeting of the Customs Union commission also discussed improvement of the legal base to accommodate the Common Economic Space. “We are talking about codification of the legislation. A special group should be created to thoroughly analyze all the agreements that have the status of laws and to systematize the legal base,” he said. Belarus has already ratified all the needed documents related to the Common Economic Space.
