Training of peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) is scheduled to be held at the territory of Kazakhstan in 2012, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing Russia's Minister of Defense Anatoliy Serdyukov. “The process of creation of the CSTO peacekeeping forces is being completed. The required legal base has been created, suggestions on the content of national peacekeeping forces have been prepared,” the Minister said. As per Serdyukov, the issues related to the use of the CSTO potential in the international peacekeeping operations along with the UN are being reviewed. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that CSTO member-states will hold training of Central Asian Collective Rapid Reaction Forces in Kyrgyzstan on July 5-8. “The main objective of the training is to practice operative interaction between national military units,” said CSTO Allied Staff representative Vladimir Ustinov.
