Kazakhstan National Bank [Central Bank] Governor Gregory Marchenko on his visit to China met Zhou Xiaochuan, People's Bank of China Governor, to discuss mutual settlements in the Tenge, Kazakhstan’s currency, and the renminbi, Newskaz.ru reports, citing the Kazakhstan Central Bank’s Press Service. “Mr. Marchenko and Mr. Xiaochuan lauded the positive dynamics of bilateral relations between the two nations in finance and bright prospects of their further development; according to them, one of the most promising vectors of cooperation is to put in place conditions to facilitate settlements in the countries’ respective national currencies”, the Press Service reported. September 25 Beijing hosted a ceremony to sign an MoU between the National Bank of Kazakhstan and China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC). Mr. Marchenko and Shang Fulin, chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, dwelt on development of China and Kazakhstan’s banking sectors and on further cooperation in banking regulation.
