As of the end of the H1 2013 Kazakhstan’s exports of finished goods makes up $1.8 billion, 8.9% up against the like period of 2012, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the country’s Kaznex Invest [agency to promote exports]. In particular, exports of tubulars quadrupled for the period from $21.1 million to $82.9 million. Kazakhstan boosted exports of soft drinks by 56% (from $12.6 million to $19.8 million); exports of current transformers by 55% (from $9.8 million to $15.2 million); exports of rice by 46% (from $7.6 million to $11.1 million); exports of chocolates by 27% (from $12.3 million to $15.7 million); exports of sugar confectionary by 18% (from $ 11.8 million to $13.9 million). Besides, Kazakhstan increased exports of medical products by 21% (from $9.5 million to $11.5 million); and exports of fertilizers by 11% (from $22.1 million to $24.6 million). Finished goods from Kazakhstan are sent to over 100 countries, with the Customs Union member states being major markets (34%), followed by other CIS states (32%), EU countries (16%) and China (5%). Exports of finished goods almost doubled from $2.3 billion back in 2010 to $4.2 billion in 2012.
