Indonesian president arrives in Astana

The President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has arrived in Astana for a state visit, Tengrinews.kz reports. The visit will boost cooperation of the two countries, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the meeting with Yudhoyono. He congratulated the Indonesian people on the Independence Day and said that Kazakhstan was interested in development of relations with Indonesia that is one of leading counties of Asia. “We are interested in development of all-round cooperation with your country in all areas,” Nazarbayev said. According to him, transport and trade are the most promising areas of the bilateral cooperation. He pointed out that opening of embassies in Astana and Jakarta would help strengthen the bilateral interaction. The President of Indonesia expressed hope that the cooperation would focus on energy, food, culture and education. By Renat Tashkinbayev
