Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met World Bank Managing Director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. PM wrote about it in his Twitter. Yesterday Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala commented on the South West Roads Project implemented in Kazakhstan in partnership with the World Bank as part of the West China – West Europe motor corridor. According to her, the project has brought about 30 000 jobs and other indirect benefits for Kzylorda and South Kazakhstan oblasts. She emphasized that more effective management of the roads, faster connection to the regional centers and simplified access to markets will have a positive impact on the living standards of 25% of the country’s population concentrated in this area.
