Football: Shakhter wins over Albanian Skenderbeu at Champion League

Two-time champion of Kazakhstan FC Shakhter has won over Albanian Skenderbeu club in the 3rd round of the Champion League, Vesti.kz reports.
The match was held on July 30 at the Astana-Arena stadium in Astana city and finished with the score of 3:0. Defender Aldin Didic (7th minute) and forwards Roman Murtazayev (78th minute) and Sergei Khizhnichenko (90th minute) were those who scored the goals during the match.
The team was awarded with $200 thousand for its victory by the management of Shakhter football club.
On August 1 Kazakhstan FC Aktobe also won a match against a foreign team. It played against Iceland's Breioablik at the UEFA Europa League with the score of 1:0. The goal was scored by midfielder Marat Khairullin.
Thanks to Shakhter, Aktobe and Irtysh clubs' success at the Euro Cups, Kazakhstan gained a record number of points in the UEFA ranking. Now Kazakhstan is in the 34 line in the UEFA ranking with 5.958 points.
