Agybai Smagulov was appointed Kazakhstan Ambassador to Tajikistan, Kazakhstan Presiden'ts official website reports. “By the presidential decree Agybai Smagulov was appointed Kazakhstan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Tajikistan and released from his duties of Kazakhstan Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,” writes the press-service's message posted on the President's website. With this new appointment Smagulov took the position of Abutalip Akhmetov who died from cardiac decompensation on November 10 last year. According to Akhmetov's advisor, Aitzhan Aidashev, Akhmetov started feeling bad when he was on his way to a business meeting.
