Hailstorm damaged gas pipeline in Almaty

Power lines were damage in 31 place in Almaty by the strong wind, hail, rain and falling trees on May 17, Kazakhstan Ministry of Emergency Situations reports. 20 cases of partial damage to low-pressure gas pipelines and 5 cases of flooding of large territories and houses were also registered in Almaty. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that strong wind exceeding 25 m/sec followed by rain and hail hit Almaty on May 17. The disaster caused damage to trees, cars and houses. One man was killed and one woman severely injured with her haunch bone fractured.
