In fact Kazakhstan has been developing for the last 10-12 years, Tengrinews.kz qouted Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev as saying at the sitting of the Foreign Investors Council in Astana on May 18.
“Kazakhstan has survived several terrible crises. After collapse of the Soviet Union Kazakhstan was left with a completely stalled economy as a piece of a crushed stone. For 5-6 year we were struggling to restore the nationhood that we never had, build up the foreign and domestic policies structure, create a liberal state and liberal economy. As we were emerging from these challenges we faced the South-East Asian crisis. Thus, our development as we know it may be considered to have started only in 1999. So, actually we have been developing for only the last 10-12 years,” said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Summing up the meeting, the President thanked the Council members for their contribution into development of Kazakhstan.
The sitting of Foreign Investors Council was attended by the world famous millionaires and billionaires.
