Killing of the number one terrorist Osama bin Laden may cause a new wave of terrorism, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Foreign Affairs Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov as saying at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member-states in Almaty. “Recent killing of the number one terrorist Osama bin Laden is a doubtless success of the United States but not the final victory in the war against terrorism,” said the Minister. “Al-Qaeda followers and other representatives of terroristic groups may raise a new wave of terrorism in the attempts of revenge their leader's death.” As per Kazykhanov, Kazakhstan has a firm and consistent position on countering terrorism. He noted that it is necessary to prevent the weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons from getting into terrorists' hands. Before the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member-states, Yerzhan Kazykhanov held a bilateral meetings with his counterparts from China, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
