Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov had a talk with Russian tycoon, President of the Skolkovo Foundation Viktor Vekselberg, to discuss cooperation with Skolkovo, Tengrinews.kz reports. Prime Minister mentioned that in his Twitter account. According to Forbes, Mr. Vekselberg was tapped by Russian government to head project Skolkovo, seen as Russia's attempt to create a version of Silicon Valley. According to WildVC, the Skolkovo Innovation Center is a special zone that provides tax, customs and visa incentives – to attract both large and small innovative companies, as well as engineers, scientists, programmers and entrepreneurs. Skolkovo also aims to make substantial investments in Russia’s human capital by attracting foreign specialists and nurturing local talent. The technology park is located immediately outside Moscow. It focuses on developing research and development with commercialization potential in five key industry sectors: IT, energy efficiency, aerospace, nuclear and biomedical industries. While Skolkovo has the strong support of the Russian Government, it is a private initiative, directed by an independent Governing Council, a Board of Trustees and a Scientific Advisory Council.
