Nazarbayev has declared a national mourning on January 31, Tengrinews.kz reports. Opening today's meeting with representatives of law-enforcement authorities, Kazakhstan President mentioned that 21 people died in the plane crash near Almaty on January 29. “I have instructed to form a special government commission that will investigated into the reasons of the tragedy and draw up new measures to enhance flights safety. The government has been instructed to render all-round support to the families of the passengers and crew members killed in the crash. I have decided to declare a national mourning on January 31,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said. The meeting’s participants paid a tribute to the crash victims with a minute of silence. Earlier President expressed condolences to the families of the victims. On January 29 a Bombardier airplane owned by Scat airline crashed 7km from Almaty airport during landing. According to the prosecutors, the plane was performing a Kokshetau-Almaty flight. The accident claimed lives of 5 crew members and 16 passengers, including a 2-y.o. child. By Renat Tashkinbayev
