Gazprom and KazMunaiGaz to develop Imashevskoye trans-border condensed gas field

KazRosGaz – a JV between Russia’s Gazprom and Kazakhstan’s KazMunaiGaz – has been designated the operator to develop Imashevskoye trans-border condensed gas field, RIA NOVOSTI reports.
Respective agreement was signed at a working meeting of Aleksei Miller, Head of Gazprom, and Kairgeldy Kabyldin, Head of KazMunaiGaz.
Imashevskoye trans-border condensed gas field is located between Russia’s Astrakhan oblast and Kazakhstan’s Atyrau oblast. Its reserves are estimated at 128.7 billion cubic meters of gas and 20.7 million tons of condensed gas.
In June 2002 Gazprom and KazMunaiGaz established a JV KazRosGaz to jointly deal with natural gas-related operations.
In September 2010 Russia and Kazakhstan signed an intergovernmental agreement to jointly explore Imashevskoye field. The agreement came into force January 17, 2011. Gazprom and KazMunaiGaz were appointed plenipotentiaries to implement the agreement.
