Kazakhstan cyclist Alexey Lutsenko has won UCI Road Race World Championship (U-23) held in Holland, Vesti.kz writes. Lutsenko sprinted to victory in Limburg ahead of French Bryan Coquard and Belgian Tom Van Asbroeck in the final race. Kazakhstan cyclists Arman Kamyshev, Daniil Fominykh, Vladislav Gorbunov, Nikita Umerbekov and Maksat Ayazbayev were not as successful and were ranked 27th, 64th, 83rd, 92nd and 111th, correspondingly. Lutsenko noted that it was not an easy victory. “The race was difficult. I got a little tired by the end, but managed to get a second breathe and push forward in the last section and made an excellent sprint. I would like to thank my team. The guys worked excellently, especially in the last stage,” the sportsman said after the race. The magazine writes that in next season Alexey Lutsenko will move to the professional division: the cyclist signed a contract with Proteam Astana in August.
