Timur Bekmambetov, a famous film director, producer, screenwriter and founder of Bazalevs film company, has been declared the Best Producer at Kinoshock film festival of the CIS countries, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, RIA Novosti reports.
The closing ceremony of the festival was held in Anapa on September 23. According to the agency, Bekmambetov did not arrive to the ceremony.
Timur Bekmambetov was born on June 25, 1961, in the city of Guryev (Atyrau). He graduated from Tashkent Theater and Arts Institute in 1987 with a degree in Theater and Cinema Set Design. He became famous after making a series of commercials for Bank Imperial, and filming his Night Watch and Day Watch sequel.
