Top 10 record-setting countries include Great Britain (5, 3), Italy (2, 4), Australia (1, 3), South Korea (2, 1), North Korea (1, 2) and the Netherlands (0, 3). Gold medals were won by cyclist Aleksandre Vinokourov, weightlifters Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Maiya Maneza, Svetlana Podobedova and Ilya Ilyin, athlete Olga Rypakova and boxer Serik Sapiyev. Boxer Adilbek Niyazimbetov won silver. Bronze medals were won by Greco-Roman wrestler Daniyal Gajiyev, boxer Marina Volnova, wrestler Gyuzel Manyurova, boxer Ivan Dychko and freestyle wrestler Akzhurek Tanatarov.
