Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke of the importance of the London Olympics for him personally and for Kazakhstan in general at the meeting with Kazakhstan people, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Our sportsmen made us happy this year. One thing I wanted to hear was Kazakhstan’s anthem. The whole world heard it. For the first time in the history of Kazakhstan we have 6 gold medals. Our sportsmen will be in top 10 list, I suppose. Many don't take sports seriously, but sports are of high importance for the country’s image,” President said at the meeting with Akmola oblast citizens. By Aidana Ussupova
