A proctologist of Kazakhstan origin has been accused of $3.5 million fraud in the U.S., Express-K writes.
Kazakhstan-born Boris Sachakov tried to cheat Medicare insurance fund that funds free medical aid to elderly and disabled people. According to prosecutor Sarah Hall, the doctor allegedly treated hemorrhoid of his patients, but in reality he just kept sending bills to the fund and received the money for the job he never did. In two years Boris Sachakov sent around 4,000 bills to the fund and made around $3.5 million.
His trial was marred with a unpleasant incident. The doctor suddenly got angry and threatened to beat up the prosecutors. It turned out that he got mad because the prosecutors pointed their fingers at him when reading the documents. According to Sachakov, pointing fingers is considered very rude in his native Kazakhstan.
