Tengrinews.kz - The Secretary of the Central Election Commission, Mukhtar Yerman, announced the upcoming work of voting stations abroad.
According to him, 77 voting stations have been established in 62 countries outside of Kazakhstan.
"However, today we consulted with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and received information from our colleagues that one station in Lebanon will not open due to the ongoing full-scale hostilities in the country. The situation there is very complex, and we cannot risk the lives and health of our voters, our citizens. Therefore, there will be 76 stations in 61 countries as of now," Yerman stated at a briefing at the Central Election Commission.
He emphasized that the operation of the stations abroad will be conducted in accordance with existing legislation.
Earlier this week, the Israeli army initiated a ground operation in southern Lebanon amidst intensive airstrikes and tank shelling in the southern regions.
On September 2, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree to hold a referendum regarding the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan, scheduled for October 6.
The organization and conduct of the republican referendum are assigned to the Central Election Commission, which will perform the functions of the Central Referendum Commission, as well as territorial and district election commissions. The cost of conducting the referendum is estimated at 15.5 billion tenge.

In the ballot for the referendum on the nuclear power plant, Kazakhstani citizens will be asked one question: "Do you agree with the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan?"
There are two answer options: "Yes, I agree" or "No, I do not agree."
