Timberlake, Elton John, Rihanna to play at Grammys

Justin Timberlake will join Elton John, Taylor Swift, Jack White, Rihanna and other stars performing at the 2013 Grammy awards show next week, AFP reports according to organizers. Six-time Grammy winner Timberlake's appearance at the 55th Grammy Awards, on February 10 will come on the eve of his first studio album for seven years, titled "The 20/20 Experience." Other artists already lined up for the music industry's biggest awards show include Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, The Black Keys, fun., The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Carrie Underwood and Jack White. Veteran British rocker John and current Grammy nominee Ed Sheeran will perform live together for the first time at the awards ceremony, hosted again by LL Cool J. New York indie pop band fun. are shortlisted in the most categories this year with six nominations, including for best album ("Some Nights") and best record ("We Are Young"). Rap artist Ocean has four nominations, for best album (the critically-acclaimed "Channel Orange"), record of the year ("Thinkin Bout You"), best new artist and best urban contemporary album. Also vying for best album are three-time Grammy winners The Black Keys for "El Camino," British rock-folk group Mumford & Sons for "Babel" and rocker White for "Blunderbuss." Record of the year contenders also include the Black Keys' "Lonely Boy," Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" and Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." The Grammys are the premier music industry awards in the United States, with no fewer than 81 categories ranging from pop and country to jazz, gospel, Latino and world music. Winners are determined by voting among members of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
