Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh DJ and producer Imanbek Zeykenov, better known as Imanbek, has been nominated for the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards.
The Latin Recording Academy announced the full list of nominees on September 17, with Imanbek being included in the category for Best Latin Electronic Music Performance for his track Ella Quiere Techno, created in collaboration with Argentine artist Taichu.
"This is a great honor to announce the nominations for the Latin GRAMMYs. It is a recognition of the work of artists, producers, songwriters, and engineers who shape modern Latin music," said the Latin Recording Academy in a statement.
The ceremony will take place on November 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This year, the awards will also feature new categories, such as Best Music for Visual Media and Best Roots Song.

Imanbek’s nomination quickly gained attention on social media, with fans worldwide congratulating him. Some users left messages like "Congrats!", "Another GRAMMY!", and "Well done, Imanbek!"
It’s worth noting that Imanbek already made history in 2021 when he won the main GRAMMY award for his remix of Roses by American rapper SAINt JHN, becoming the first Kazakh artist to receive such a prestigious music award.
The rules for the Latin GRAMMY consider releases between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025. Winners will be chosen by the academy’s members, professionals from the music industry across different countries.
What’s the difference between the Latin GRAMMY and the "classic" GRAMMY?
The Latin GRAMMY ceremony is held separately from the classic GRAMMY awards and has its own focus. While the classic GRAMMY covers all music genres worldwide, the Latin GRAMMY is dedicated entirely to Latin American culture. Only recordings with at least half of the lyrics in Spanish, Portuguese, or other regional languages are eligible for nomination.
The GRAMMY has been awarded since 1959, while the Latin GRAMMY was introduced in 2000. Another key difference is that the GRAMMY is organized by the American Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, while the Latin GRAMMY is organized by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, with each awarding body determining the best in its field.
