A Russian rocket has unexpectedly slumped near Shungay village in Bokeiorda region of West Kazakhstan Oblast, Tengrinews reports citing Uralskaya Nedelya.
The rocket was launched from Russian military range Kapustin Yar at night on March 27. No one was killed on injured in the incident.
The village residents said that they heard a rumbling and something heavy fell at around 1:00 a.m. local time. The earth was shaking slightly under their feet. People from the houses nearest to the fall area went out and saw flames 300-400 meters away from the village.
The Russian rocked fell into three parts, the locals said.
Police and military crews arrived to the village several hours later. They cordoned off the site. Later they were joined by their Russian colleagues. Now they are dealing with the cleanup and transportation of the rocket wrecks away from the fall area.
