Nursultan Nazarbayev will render a visit to Moscow to attend a collective security session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Interstate Council meeting of the Eurasian Economic Cooperation (EurAsEC) on December 19, Tengrinews.kz reports citing official representative of the Central Communications Center Altai Abibullayev. According to him, “a wide range of issues of the international agenda and enhancement of cooperation between the CSTO member-countries” will be discussed of CSTO session. The agenda of EurAsEC Interstate Council meeting has not been publicized yet. Earlier Russia ratified the protocol on placement of military infrastructure and facilities at the territory of CSTO member-countries. This document states that CSTO countries may place troops, military infrastructure and facilities of the third countries that are not members of the Organization only after emergency consultations (approval) with all the other members and in case no official objections are made. Speaking of the possible agenda of the CSTO summit in Moscow, the organization’s secretary Nikolay Bordyuzha recently talked about the necessity to work out suggestions for the measures to be taken in case the situation in Afghanistan deteriorates.
