Military budgets of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are 20 times the size of the military budget of Tajikistan, REGNUM information agency writes citing the report of IISS International Center of Strategic Research. According to the analysts, the expenses of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in this sector make $1.4 billion, which is 20 times higher than the ones incurred by Tajikistan and 45 times higher than Kyrgyzstan's military costs. The number of Kazakhstan militarymen is 65 thousand people, while there are only 16 thousand of them in Tajikistan. Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan have 20 thousand militarymen each, while 50 thousand people serve in Uzbekistan's military. Besides, IISS report includes information of military-technical equipment of the armies of Central Asian countries. Kazakhstan has 2,210 armored personnel carrier, 980 tanks and 278 helicopters and jets. Turkmenistan ones 1,941 armored carriers, 680 tanks and 112 helicopters and military planes. Uzbekistan has 700 armored carriers, 340 tanks, 135 jets and 500 cannons. Tajikistan did not inherit anything from the powerful Soviet army after collapse of the Soviet Union. It owns 46 armored carriers, 37 tanks, 3 helicopters and 1 military plane.
