Defense Minister tagged Kazakhstan army one of the best in CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Tengrinews.kz reports citing Adilbek Dzhaksybekov as saying in his official greetings to Kazakhstan militarymen during the celebratory event in Astana.
“Modern Kazakhstan army has become principally different. According to international experts and certain documented confirmations, Kazakhstan army is currently one of the best armies in the Commonwealth of Independent States (post soviet space) and its officers and militarymen have the required professional training,” Minister said.
According to Dzhaksybekov, the fleet of military vehicles and armament is annually updated by 7 percent in compliance with the practices of the armies of the leading countries. Certain classes and types of vehicles are being modernized and modern armament is purchased under international military-technical cooperation. Kazakhstan also develops and produces its own armament.
The military celebration was attended by President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime-Minister Karim Massimov.
