Tengrinews.kz - The portal "Open Normative Legal Acts" published a draft decree on the agreement between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan on military intelligence.
The agreement was signed in Baku on 7 June 2024, now it is to be approved.
The parties have agreed to co-operate in such forms as:
- Official visits of leaders and meetings of experts;
- Mutual exchange of military information on terrorists, extremists and important events;
- Joint exercises for the military on the territories of both states;
- The parties shall not conduct military reconnaissance against each other;
- Other forms of co-operation.
"The exchange, use and protection of classified information will be regulated by a separate international treaty on mutual protection. The parties undertake not to use the information obtained under this agreement to the detriment of the party that provided it," the document says.
The treaty can be suspended if there is a threat to the security or integrity of one of the parties. In this case, it is necessary to notify the other party in writing through diplomats.
The agreement is concluded for 5 years.
The draft decree was published on the Open Normative Legal Act portal on 23 July and will be under discussion until 6 August.
